6,051 illegal residents in Kuwait adjusted status by May

KUWAIT, May 31 (KUNA) -- The Central Apparatus for Illegal Residents Affairs said the number of illegal residents who adjusted their legal status since early 2011 until this May reached 6,051 people.
About 4,461 of those residents were given the Saudi nationality after they revealed their true identity, Apparatus official Colonel Mohammad Al-Wehaib told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) on Saturday.
Another 625 were given the Syrian nationality, 570 Iraqi nationality, 62 Iranian, 36 Jordanian, and 297 were given other nationalities, said Al-Wehaib. Those people will receive several privileges from the Apparatus including a five-year cost-free residency permit, free education and healthcare, food subsidies card, and the priority immediately after locals for employment.
Al-Wehaib called on those wishing to adjust their residency to visit the Apparatus' office in Al-Ardiya and Mubarak Al-Kabeer.(end) maa.tb
