Bahraini King tackles bolstering ties with Tajikistan President

MANAMA, May 28 (KUNA) -- Bahrain King Hamad bin Issa Al-Khalifa discussed on Wednesday with visiting President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon current developments in the region and bilateral relations.
The Bahraini King welcomed the Tajik President and assured his country's keenness to bolster ties and cooperation with Tajikistan in all fields.
The two sides also discussed bilateral friendly relations as well as ways of expanding areas of joint cooperation in the political, economic, trade and investment fields.
Eight Memo Of Understanding (MoU) were signed between the two sides in various fields, including an MoU on bilateral consultation between the two countries Foreign Ministries signed by Foreign Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Khalifa and his Tajik counterpart Sirojidin Aslov.
The two ministers also signed an agreement on exchanging aviation services between the two countries' governments.
Another MoU covered enhancing cooperation in cultural and art fields was also signed between the Foreign Minister and Tajik Minister of Culture Shams-Alddin Arombikov.
Another MoU dealt with tourism between the two countries, while another MoU tackled the avoidance of double taxation issue between the countries' governments.
For his part, the Tajik President affirmed on his country's commitment to boost cooperation with the kingdom and expressed delight for the warm welcome and reception.
The Tajik leader also met with Bahraini Crown Prince Amir Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa and discussion highlighted strengthening bilateral relations. (end) mga.mb
