US deeply concerned over kidnapping of US journalist in Ukraine

WASHINGTON, April 23 (KUNA) -- The US voiced here Wednesday deep concern over the kidnapping of a US journalist in Ukraine.
State Department Spokesperson Jennifer Psaki told reporters "I can express a deep concern about the kidnapping of a U.S. citizen, journalist in Slovyansk, Ukraine, reportedly at the hands of pro-Russian separatists.
She added "we have also raised our concerns with Ukrainian officials as they work with local authorities to try to de-escalate the security situation." "We likewise condemn the taking of any hostages, including journalists, in eastern Ukraine," she stressed.
