Sabahi presents candidacy papers to PEC

CAIRO, April 19 (KUNA) -- Egyptian Presidential candidate Hamdeen Sabahy on Saturday presented his candidacy papers to the Presidential Election Committee (PEC).
The presidential elections are scheduled to be held on May 26-27, with candidates having to gain the approval of at least 25,000 people from different provinces.
Speaking to reporters at the commission headquarters, Sabahy voiced hope that the next presidential elections would be carried out in full fairness and transparency.
Sabahy is is the second candidate for the upcoming presidential election as former Defense Minister Field Marshal Abdel Fattah el-Sisi has already presented his candidacy papers for the elections committee, which included the approval of 200,000 people. (end) rg.hs
