Passengers' traffic drops 14 pcnt at Beirut Airport in March

BEIRUT, April 18 (KUNA) -- Beirut-Rafic Hariri International Airport recorded a decline of 14 percent in the number of passengers in March 2014, statistics by the Lebanese Civil Aviation Authority revealed Friday.
The number of passengers were 430,969 less than the same period of 2013, the statistics added, indicating that the number of commercial flights reached 4,376, a drop of nine percent.
Nonetheless, officials said that traffic at the airport will improve this month over Easter Holidays since many westerners tend to spend their holidays in Lebanon.
Lebanon has been witnessing instability due to increase of suicide-bombers incidents in the past few months. (end) ayb.nfm
