Belgium welcomes Geneva deal on Ukraine

BRUSSELS, April 18 (KUNA) -- Belgian Foreign Minister Didier Reynders Friday welcomed the agreement reached yesterday in Geneva between the EU, Ukraine, the United States and Russia.
"The parties must now implement their commitments. This implies a further de-escalation and disarmament of the various armed groups," he said in a statement.
Reynders promised the support of Belgium in the EU and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) for the implementation of this agreement.
He said that all parties involved, both in Ukraine and abroad, should use their influence to execute this agreement and stressed that there must be an immediate end to insurgent acts, armed violence and occupations of public buildings. (end) nk.mt
