Kuwait's Constitution translated into Korean

KUWAIT, April 18 (KUNA) -- Koreans will now be able to read and comprehend Kuwait's Constitutions after it was translated into their language by the Center on Middle East Affairs at South Korea's University of Myongji.
A ceremony attended by a large number of Korean parliamentarians and diplomats accredited in the Republic of Korea was held at the Korean parliament to celebrate the event.
Kuwait's Ambassador to South Korea Jasem Al-Bedaiwi stressed in his speech that this effort reflected not only the principles of democracy shared between the State of Kuwait and the Republic of Korea, but "this effort comes at an important and historic time in the march of bilateral relations between the two friendly countries." The Ambassador added that translating the Kuwaiti Constitutions would enable the Korean people to become acquainted with what Kuwait enjoys of freedom, power-sharing, human rights guarantees and equality among all Kuwaiti people.
For her part, Kim Il Dong, head of the Korean-Kuwaiti Parliamentary Friendship Association, spoke about both countries' relations boom since the beginning of diplomatic relations in 1979, saying that relations of cooperation and friendship have witnessed prosperity at all levels and areas, including economy, security and culture.
She added that Kuwait was one of the first countries which provided opportunities for Korean companies to participate in construction projects in the 1970s in the Middle East.
She said that Kuwait is the fourth largest oil producer globally, and is the third largest oil exporter to the Republic of Korea. (end) tg
