Some 50 injured as train derails N.E India

NEW DELHI, April 16 (KUNA) -- At least 50 people, 19 of them critically, were injured when 10-coach train derailed northeast the Indian state of Assam, police said Wednesday.
The train, Dimapur-Kamakhya BG Express, derailed in Teghiria area of Central Assam, police noted, adding that the derailment caused damage to railway tracks as well.
Police said the 19 of the seriously injured have been admitted to various hospitals, with relief and rescue operations starting at the site.
The Police disclosed that the cause of the accident is being investigated.
Due to accident, the police said several train services were cancelled in the region. (end) wk.hb
