Korean PM arrives in Pakistan on 4-day visit

ISLAMABAD, April 13 (KUNA) -- Prime Minister of Republic of Korea Chung Hongwon arrived in Pakistan on a four-day official visit and received a red carpet welcome on his arrival at Nur Khan base in the federal capital Islamabad.
Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Reforms Ahsan Iqbal and the Korean Ambassador in Pakistan welcomed the Korean PM and his delegation. Clad in traditional dresses, a young boy and a girl presented bouquets to the dignitary. Chung Hongwon is visiting Pakistan at the invitation of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
This is the first Prime Minister level visit to Pakistan from the Republic of Korea since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1983. According to Foreign Office press release, during the visit, Chung Hongwon will call on the President and Prime Minister of Pakistan.
He will be the Chief Guest at the "Korea Pakistan Investment Cooperation Forum" jointly organized by Board of Investment, Pakistan and Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) on April 14, 2014 in Islamabad.
The two sides will also discuss ways and means for further strengthening cooperation in diverse areas particularly in expanding bilateral trade and enhancing investments in Pakistan, said Foreign Office.
Prime Minister of Republic of Koreaآ’s visit would be of special significance and would impart new impetus to the existing friendly relations between the two countries, it added. (end) sbk.mt
