MOSCOW, April 10 (KUNA) -- Director of the Kremlin Museum Elena Gagarina lauded Thursday the participation of Kuwait''s Dar al-Athar al-Islamiyyah in an exhibition showcasing Indian jewelry creations.
On the sidelines of the exhibition, Gagarina told KUNA that Kuwait has presented rare Indian artifacts from the Hyderabad State; a state in British India which was the only supplier of diamonds for the global market in the 19th century.
She expressed appreciation to this contribution that added greater value to the exhibition. She highly praised the level of coordination between Dar al-Athar al-Islamiyah, chaired by Sheikh Hessa Al-Sabah, and the Kremlin Museum.
Gagarina hoped that some of the Kremlin Museum items would be displayed in an exhibition in Kuwait as part of the standing cooperation between the two cultural institutes.
The Moscow Kremlin Museum is hosting a remarkable exposition of approximately 300 masterpieces of jewelry by the distinguished Indian and European makers; they are on loan from many museums and private collections of Europe and Asia.
The sixteenth-to-twentieth-century outstanding Indian artworks, including royal, ceremonial, and personal jewels, are brought together to reveal the diversity and peculiarities of forms and techniques within the tradition of jewelry-making in India. (end) as.nfm
