RIYADH, April 9 (KUNA) -- Saudi Health Minister Abdullah Al-Rabeea said Wednesday that the spread of the corona virus in his country does not form an epidemic based on international standards.
The ministry witnessed a limited increase in the spread of the disease in Saudi Arabia, however, the number stands so far at 11 cases - two of whom have died, while six have recovered and another three still receiving medical care, he said in a statement.
The minister urged the public not to adhere to rumors and "undocumented information" on social media, calling on local media to obtain their information from official sources.
He also urged citizens to take extra precautionary measures in ensuring their safety, and to follow procedures underlined by the Health Ministry.
Earlier, the Saudi Health Affairs Department in Jeddah said that the health status of the corona virus in the governorate was "stable", and that the situation was "reassuring". (end) yms.mb
