KUWAIT, April 7 (KUNA) -- Minister of Information and State Minister for Youth Affairs Sheikh Salman Sabah Al-Sabah inaugurated "Kreate," an exhibition dedicated to young artisans.
The three-day exhibition is being organised by Bayt Lothan, in a move through which the local art and cultural centre aims "to support, nurture and promote" young Kuwaitis, who "produce most of their works by hand." Minister Sheikh Salman praised the non-profit body for its role in serving the community through its encouragement of art and culture amongst youngsters.
The exhibition showcased artworks the minister regarded "exceptional, and produced in the utmost detail." This reflects the desire of these youngsters to transmit a message to the private sector on the need for support of their art, he said, expressing gratitude to the sponsors.
Kuwait has always pledged commitment to its youth, providing them will all the support and care they require, he added, and the formation of the Ministry of Youth Affairs only aims to highlight these notions.
Bayt Lothan''''s Director General Sheikha Farah Al-Sabah explained that the exhibition presented handicrafts, produced by 10 local artisans, such as Arabic calligraphy, visual artworks, architecture and handbags.
These artists were Abdulaziz Al-Ameer, Ali Al-Shobbar, Ahmad Abu Dham, Tarek Al-Sultan, the Experiment 1 team of Dalal Al-Hashash, Fatma Al-Obaid and Khawla Al-Hussaini, Sulaiman Al-Zuhair, Salah Zamani and Yousef Al-Ibrahim. (end) ha.sd
