KUWAIT, Feb 28 (KUNA) -- The West Asia Football Federation's (WAFF) Women's Committee met on Friday to discuss the timetable of championships in 2014 and endorse the first e-bulletin for WAAF women football.
Committee chairperson Sheikha Naeema Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah described the meeting as "fruitful" and the members succeeded in setting the timetable for this year's championships as well as rescheduling some tournaments next year.
Speaking to KUNA fter the meeting, Sheikha Naeema said the committee also launched the first e-bulletin for the WAFF women football.
She said Jordan would be hosting the WAFF championship in April, which would feature participation of Palestine, Jordan, the UAE, Bahrain and Iran.
The women futsal championship that was scheduled in Kuwait next October was rescheduled for next year because, she noted.
Sheikha Naeema she asked the higher organization committee of the FIFA world cup 2022 in Qatar to work on encouraging women football.
Committee vice-chairperson Amal Bushallakh voiced content for the launch of the e-bulletin, which would be quarterly and posted on the WAFF website.
The first e-bulletin talked about two UAE women who were qualified as international referees, as well as married female players, and the athletes who continued playing sports after giving birth. (end) js.bs KUNA 282113 Feb 14NNNN
