CAPITALS, Feb 27 (KUNA) -- Kuwaiti embassies in several countries are
continuing the celebrations of the country's National Day and Liberation Day
which fall on February 25 and 26.
Kuwaiti Ambassador in Armenia Bassam Al-Qabandi organized a reception to
mark the national occasions and to celebrate eight years since His Highness
the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah came to power.
The ceremony was attended by several Armenian officials, members of
parliament, businessmen and public and media figures.
The Kuwaiti Embassy in Cambodia held a grand reception late Wednesday to
mark Kuwait's 53rd National Day and 23rd Liberation Day in presence of a host
of Cambodian officials and dignitaries.
Addressing the ceremony, Kuwaiti Ambassador in Cambodia Derar Al-Twejri
elaborated on the history of diplomatic relations between Kuwait and Cambodia,
pointing to Kuwait's interest in having closer and firmer cooperative ties
with Cambodia.
He also voiced sincere congratulation to the Kuwaiti leadership, mainly His
Highness the Amir and His Highness the Crown Prince on the country's national
festivals.
In New Delhi, the Kuwaiti embassy held a reception to mark the Kuwait's
53rd National Day and the 23rd anniversary of Liberation Day on Wednesday
evening.
The impressive ceremony was attended by Indian minister for Parliamentary
affairs, Rajiv Shukla, senior Indian officials, foreign diplomats and galaxy
of people from public life.
Kuwaiti ambassador to India, Sami Al-Sulaiman along with Mrs. Sulaiman and
embassy staff welcomed the guests and exchanged greetings with them over the
Kuwait's 53rd National Day and the 23rd anniversary of Liberation Day
celebrations.
Speaking to KUNA over the occasion, Kuwaiti Ambassador extended his
heartfelt greetings to the His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad
Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad
Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak
Al-Hamad Al-Sabah as well the Kuwaiti government and people on the National
day.
The ambassador recalled the excellent relation between India and Kuwait in
all the fields. "Kuwait and India enjoy special relations. Especially after
the visit of His Highness the Prime Minister of Kuwaiti to India last
November, a number of avenues in various fields of cooperation have opened up,
" Sulaiman said.
"India-Kuwait relationship are on firm ground and we are looking for more
avenues and large areas of cooperation," the ambassador said.
Indian minister for Parliamentary affairs, Rajiv Shukla said that
Indian-Kuwaiti relations have always remained excellent.
He congratulated the Kuwaiti leadership and people on the eve of national
and liberation day.
"For us Kuwait is an important country," Shukla said while speaking on the
occasion. "We want to enhance our friendship in all areas."
He said the recent decision of Indian government to give visa on arrival to
Kuwaiti visitors signifies how India values the friendship with the Kuwait.
