(With photos) CAPITALS, Feb 26 (KUNA) -- The Kuwaiti diplomatic missions in several countries are continuing celebrating Kuwait's the 53rd National Day and 23rd Liberation Day of the State of Kuwait.
In Harare, Kuwait's Ambassador to Zimbabwe Ahmad Khaled Al-Jiran hosted a reception to mark the national days at one of the capital's hotels, which gathered a number of official and political attendants, notably Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and MP for Norton Constituency Christopher Mutsvangwa, and a number of senior officials, Zimbabwe's members of the parliament, businessmen, and heads of diplomatic missions.
During the reception, Ambassador Al-Jiran congratulated His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah, as well as all the Kuwaiti people and government on this occasion.
In Hong Kong, Consulate-General of Kuwait in Hong Kong hosted a celebration to mark the national days and was attended by Secretary for Justice Rimsky Yuen Kwok-keung, Secretary for Education Eddie NG Hak-kim, President of Legislative Council Jasper Tsang Yok-sing, businessmen, economists, heads of major commercial companies, heads of Islamic organizations, heads of diplomatic missions, and a large number of Arab and Islamic nationals.
For his part, Kuwait's Consul General to Hong Kong Khaled Al-Mutairi lauded Kuwait-Hong Kong ties that witnessed a notable development during the last few years on levels of governmental institutions and private sectors, affirming availability of several opportunities to attain cooperation in many areas such as trade, tourism, and investment; particularly since officials from both sides realize the economic privileges for Kuwait and Hong Kong.
In Pretoria, Kuwait's Ambassador to South Africa Hasan Bader Al-Oqab hosted a celebration to mark the national days and was attended by South African Deputy Director General for Asia and the Middle East of the Department of International Relations and Cooperation Anil Sooklal, as well as many senior South African officials such as ministers, foreign ministry officials, members of diplomatic missions, diplomats, and businessmen.
During the celebration, Ambassador Al-Oqab addressed the attendants about His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah's initiative for allocating USD 1 billion to support developmental projects in the African continent, as well as a group of resolutions that were issued during the African-Arab Summit that was held in Kuwait in November 2013.
In London, Kuwait's Ambassador to the UK Khaled Abdulaziz Al-Duwaisan hosted a reception to mark the national days and was attended by former UK Undersecretary of State for the Middle East and North Africa Affairs Alistair Burt, members of British House of Commons, members of the British government, lords, heads of diplomatic missions, economists, businessmen, and politicians.
During the reception, Ambassador Al-Duwaisan reiterated the depth of historic Kuwaiti-British relations on various fields, noting the Kuwaiti people will never forget Britain's supportive stances to Kuwait throughout history.
In Berlin, the German embassy held a reception to mark Kuwait's national festivals and eight years since His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah assumed power.
