BRUSSELS, Feb 25 (KUNA) -- Belgian police have launched an operation
targeting people involved in the recruitment of fighters to join the
opposition ranks in the Syrian civil war, Belgian media Tuesday reported.
Twenty premises were raided in Brussels and elsewhere in Belgium and scores
of people were detained but only 10 were arrested and others released. The
suspects are expected to appear before a judge on Friday.
It was the second big operation in Belgium against the recruitment of Syria
fighters. Some 150 detectives took part, said the reports.
Tens of Belgian Muslim youngsters are reported to have gone to Syria to
fight against the Assad regime and 20 of them have lost their lives there.
