GAZA, Feb 15 (KUNA) -- A Palestinian human rights body accused Israeli
occupation authorities Saturday of exercising excessive force against the
civilians in Gaza Strip.
Israeli forces killed a Palestinian worker and injured another in an attack
against civilians who were collecting rocks east of Gaza City in the past two
days, the Palestinian Center of Human Rights said in a statement.
The Israeli attack killed 36-year-old Ibrahim Mansour and injured
21-year-old Rafiq Herokli, the Gaza-based center added.
Hundreds of Palestinians, who lost their jobs, are forced to collect rocks
to sell them to be reused in construction purposes.
The center also said the Israeli forces opened fire at a group of children
and youth who were near the separation fence, injuring 16 of them including
four children.
It called on the international community to stop the Israeli occupation
authorities' crimes which "are considered war crimes in line with article 147
of the Fourth Geneva Convention to protect civilians." (end)
