(with photos) KUWAIT, Feb 15 (KUNA) -- Kuwaiti athletics player Saleh Al-Hadad won the long jump gold medal in the sixth Asian Indoor Athletics Championship, his fellow citizen Abdullaziz Al-Mendeil grabbed the gold medal for 60 meters hurdles and Yagoub Al-Yoha snatched the silver for the same category.
The head of the Kuwaiti delegation and the secretary of the Kuwaiti Athletics Federation, Salem Al-Enezi, told KUNA by telephone that this achievement came as a result of efforts and long preparations for this championship.
The tournament which is currently held in China and will be concluded on Sunday, Feb 16, groups the best players in various games, he said, expressing confidence in the rest of the Kuwaiti players to achieve positive results in the remaining games.
He dedicated this achievement to His Highness the Amir, His Highness the Crown Prince and the Kuwaiti people, stressing that the Kuwaiti youth are able to make the best achievements, provided all needed potentials are made available for them. (end) ayr.abd.ss KUNA 151256 Feb 14NNNN
