PARIS, Dec 23 (KUNA) -- A train carrying nuclear waste derailed near Paris
Monday afternoon, but authorities said there were no leaks or any nuclear
fallout from the incident.
Fire services gave the all clear and local politicians reported on BFM
Television that there was no danger to the local population as a result of the
incident.
The multi-wagon train was travelling in the Drancy suburb near Paris when
one of the wagons came off the rails, media and official reports said.
France is a major nuclear power user and has around 50 plants around the
country and derives around 80 percent of its electricity from nuclear energy.
