WASHINGTON, Dec 16 (KUNA) -- The US voiced Monday its concerns to Russia
over its deployment of short-range missiles near its borders with NATO.
State Department deputy spokeswoman Marie Harf told reporters "we've shared
with Russia the concerns that countries in the neighborhood have regarding
Russia's deployment of the Iskander missiles in Kaliningrad."
She affirmed "we've urged Moscow to take no steps to destabilize the
region. We've made that point with them.
"We certainly know that countries in the neighborhood have expressed
concerns over it, and we'll keep talking to them about it going forward," she
added.
According to reports, Russia has started positioning Iskander missiles in
its western region with Lithuania and Poland both voicing concern. (end)
