(With photos) KUWAIT, Dec 9 (KUNA) -- Board Chairman and Director General of Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) Sheikh Mubarak Al-Duaij Al-Ibrahim Al-Sabah received on Monday visiting Acting Director General of Bahrain News Agency (BNA) Mohannad Sulaiman and his accompanying delegation, who are here to attend media events marking the 34th GCC Supreme Council summit.
The discussion at the meeting covered an array of media issues, particularly development and cooperation of GCC states' media, especially between KUNA and BNA.
The KUNA chairman stressed the great development the news agencies of the Gulf are witnessing, noting that "We would not be able to reach our aspired goals without expanding the horizons of cooperation to include all fields that serve our media message." The developments taking place in the Arab region require the development of news agencies' potentials, media discourse and services to keep pace with the rapidly-changing information technology, he added.
For his part, Sulaiman stressed the importance of the exchange of expertise between the GCC news agencies, in addition to the significance of the communication and consultation between the agencies' officials in order to achieve the desired media.
The meeting was attended by KUNA Deputy Director-General for Administrative and Financial Affairs Abdulhamid Malak and Deputy Director-General for Editorial Affairs Saad Al-Ali. (end) ysa.ba KUNA 091507 Dec 13NNNN
