KUWAIT, Nov 15 (KUNA) -- Kuwait is ranked first in terms of Arab investments in the Comoros and has made tremendous efforts on many regional and international issues, said Comoros Ambassador Mohamed Kalim Mze on Friday.
The chief delegate participating in the Third Africa-Arab Summit to be held here on Tuesday Ambassador Mohamed Kalim Mze told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) in an exclusive interview on the sidelines of the senior officials' meeting that "the Comoros highly praised the initiative of His Highness the Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah in convening this significant gathering that brings together the Arab world and the African continent".
He added that His Highness the Amir has always been wise in his decisions and has an insighful vision in the substanitaion of regional and international cooperation.
He hailed the general atmosphere that dominated activities of the meetings that were held during the past day saying they reflected a true desire by the two parties to forge stronger bonds of economic, investment and social cohesiveness.
He pointed out that the conferees discussed a number of important issues including developmental and investment topics that are of interest for both sides in addition to the issue of illegal migration which poses a real threat against peace and security of the countries.
Among other issues discussed which fall under this category were unemployment, cross-border migration, terrorism, violence and empowerment of women.
He said the discussions took place in a cordial and friendly atmosphere and there was a consensus on such topics.
He said the summit, as requested by the State of Kuwait, did not want the gathering to tackle political issues, thanks to the wisdom of His Highness the Amir and to focus of developmental, economic and investment domains.
On the other hand, Mze invited the Kuwaiti businessmen in particular and Arabs in general to come to the Comoros and do business as "the new policy adopted by his country encourages foreign investment such as peace and security, pre-visa exemption, investment guarantees and tax exemptions".
He said the Kuwaiti investors and businessmen would be given a priority in the Comoros.
He also urged businessmen from both sides to exchange visits and explore each other's potentials.
He said that the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) has been supporting the Comoros since its independence in 1975, hailing its role in achieving a sustainable development in his country.
On tourism, he invited the Kuwaiti tourist to come to the Comoros and enjoy the beauty of his country as the visa can be obtained upon arrival at the airport. (end) kt.tg KUNA 151443 Nov 13NNNN
