BRUSSELS, Nov 11 (KUNA) -- The 13th session of the Foundation of Abdulaziz Saud Al-Babtain's Prize for Poetic Creativity, due to begin at the European Parliament headquarters later on Monday, is intended to affirm Kuwait's concern for spread of culture and dialogue among civilizations, the Kuwaiti Ambassador here said.
Dharar Abdul-Razzak Razzooqi, also Kuwait's Delegate at the United Nations' agencies, said in a statement to KUNA that cultural interaction enriches civilizations and boosts progress at various levels.
Considering Kuwait's political and economic dialogue with States of the world, this convention asserts necessity of cultural dialogue, expertise transfer and exchange among Arab and European nations, said Al-Razzooqi.
The poetic foundation seeks to spread the Arabic language, cement bonds with the European Union and examine, on mutual basis, the democratic experience.
The European Parliament sponsorship of the gathering signals necessity of devoting attention to the cultural exchange and dialogue, Al-Razzooqi added.
The ambassador held a banquet, late on Sunday, honoring Speaker of Kuwait's National Assembly Marzouq Al-Ghanim, the eminent poet, Abdul Aziz Al-Babtain, and the foundation staff. A number of Kuwaii political and cultural dignitaries attended the formal dinner.
Al-Babtain's 13-day session tackles reconsideration of democracy, social networking and education. (end) kt.rk KUNA 111317 Nov 13NNNN
