KUWAIT, Nov 4 (KUNA) -- Undersecretary of Commerce and Industry Abdulaziz
Al-Khaldi said Monday the ministry was keen on exchanging experiences in the
field of consumer protection with Oman, through close cooperation with the
Sultanate's Public Authority for Consumer Protection.
Following a meeting with the President of Oman's Public Authority for
Consumer Protection Dr. Saeed Al-Ka'abi, Al-Khaldi said, in a statement to
KUNA, the Omani knowledge in the field of consumer protection was integrated
with Kuwait experience in this area, noting that they "decided there will be
an exchange of field visits between the parties in order to develop those
experiences."
Al-Khaldi added that the visit by the Omani delegation included a briefing
on Ministry of Commerce and Industry's experience in the field of trade
supervision, inspection, in addition to experience in the field of supplies
and national food security.
The Kuwaiti official explained that a ministry delegation had visited Oman
to get acquainted with Oman's consumer protection, noting that "there are more
cooperation in this field in the near future."
For his part, Al-Ka'abi said that the visit was to get acquainted with
Kuwait's consumer protection, a pioneer in this area, especially in the fight
against fraud and price fixing through a very successful system. (end)
