BRUSSELS, July 22 (KUNA) -- EU Foreign Ministers Monday agreed to designate
the military wing of Hizbullah as a terrorist group.
"Due to the concerns of the role of the Hezbullah we have agreed to
designate its military wing on the list of terrorist organisations," EU High
Representative Catherine Ashton told a press conference at the end of the
meeting.
"But it does not prevent the continuation of dialogue with all political
parties in Lebanon. The delivery of financial assistance to Lebanon will not
be affected. The position will be reviewed on a six monthly basis," she said.
"It is a signal that we are not prepared to see terrorism in any shape or
form as a means of achieving political ends," said Ashton.
"We are committed to the stability, sovereignty, unity and peace in
Lebanon. We encourage the disassociation from the conflict in Syria," she
