KUWAIT, July 16 (KUNA) -- A fire described as "limited," broke out early on Tuesday at Mina Al-Ahmadi refinery has been extinguished, said Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC).
The fire, which occurred at 1230 local time, in the refinery's phosphorus storage warehouse, was caused by a technical glitch in the conveyor belt of the chemical.
The refinery's firefighting team was able to contain the fire and extinguish it within 20 minutes, after the activation of the emergency response plan in the refinery, Head of Public Relations and Media at KNPC, Mansour Al-Ajmi told KUNA.
Al-Ajmi reported no casualties and no damage or halt to the import and export of Mina Al-Ahmadi refinery's production. (end) fh.ysa.ba KUNA 161223 Jul 13NNNN
