BAGHDAD, June 24 (KUNA) -- At least 60 Iraqi people were killed and nearly
100 injured in a series of bombings in Baghdad on Monday, an interior ministry
source said.
A booby-trapped car was detonated in a car parking lot in New Baghdad
neighborhood killing 13 people and injuring 15 others, including three women
and two children, the source told KUNA.
The explosion caused huge damage to nearby buses who were boarded by
people, he said.
He added that another boody-trapped car exploded near a juice shop killing
a civilian and wounding six others, while a car bomb in Al-Karrada area killed
five civilians and injured 16 others.
Another car explosion in the Technology University St. killed five
civilians and injured four others, said the source.
An explosion caused by a booby-trapped car killed six civilians and injured
four others, while four policemen were killed and 12 people were injured in a
car bomb attack. Both attacks took place eastern Baghdad.
Six civilians were killed and three wounded when an explosive device placed
in a passenger bus went off in southern Baghdad. Elevent civilians, including
four women, were killed and 15 injured in two explosions as well, while nine
civilians were killed and 18 injured in a booby-trapped car in a market.
A medical source said a total of 60 people were killed and 97 injured by
the blasts. (end)
