(with photos) YEREVAN, May 31 (KUNA) -- Kuwait Ambassador to Armenia Bassam Mohammad Al-Qabandi lauded Kuwaiti National Assembly Speaker Ali Fahad Al-Rashed's visit to Armenia, expecting it would have positive impacts on the historic ties with the Caucasian nation.
"This visit will take Kuwaiti-Armenian relations to new horizons," Al-Qabandi told KUNA commenting on Al-Rashed and his accompanying parliamentary delegation's visit to Armenia. Al-Qabandi said that the political and parliamentarian relations between Kuwait and Armenia have developed in the past years.
"We hope there would be similar development in economic, commercial and investment relations in the coming years," he added.
Al-Qabandi urged Kuwaiti and Armenian investors to make the best use of the investment-friendly environment and available investment opportunities in both countries.
Kuwait and Armenia had signed two agreements on avoidance of double taxation and protection of investments, the ambassador revealed. He urged the Kuwaiti Ministry of Higher Education to increase the number of scholarships for Armenian students seeking to study the Arabic language in Kuwait University.
