KUWAIT, May 11 (KUNA) -- Al-Farwaniya Hospital has seen a rare caesarean drama which ended happily with the mother, a Filipino, returning to life after being declared clinically dead. The 9 month pregnant woman, 36, was admitted to the hospital at 3:30 am on Friday; she had to undergo a caesarean which was successful and the baby is sound, Director of the Hospital Dr. Humoud Al-Zo'abi told KUNA on Saturday.
"But soon afterwards she entered in clinical death with neither heartbeat nor breathing. Physicians battled to rescue her life until their effort proved successful," he said, hailing what happened as "a scientific miracle." Dr. Al-Zo'abi attributed the problem to woman's poor health as she suffers from very high blood pressure.
Meanwhile, Dr. Mohammad Hassan who sponsored the operation said: "As soon as the woman was first checked up, she was declared clinically dead, thereby the maternity division of the hospital was put on the alert for a caesarean," he revealed.
"The woman and her baby are now in stable condition," Dr. Hassan affirmed in similar statements to KUNA. (end) mf.tb.gb KUNA 112154 May 13NNNN
