MOSCOW, May 3 (KUNA) -- Russian Foreign minister Sergei Lavrov said Friday
Moscow was ready to meet and talk with all Syrian opposition factions.
"We are ready to hold talks with all Syrian opposition figures," Lavrov
said in an answer to a question about calls by representative of the Free
Syrian Army, Salem Idrees, to hold dialogue with Russia.
But Lavrov criticized calls to arming the Syrian opposition.
"This step will strengthen the desire to end the conflict in Syria by force
and aborting political settlement means," he said.
The bloody conflict in Syria has killed more than 70,000 people and
displaced more than a million others. (end)
