Suicide bomber kills eight, wounds 18 at army checkpoint N. of capital

BAGHDAD, Feb 5 (KUNA) -- Eight policemen were killed and 18 others wounded on Tuesday when a suicide bomber detonated a car packed with explosives at an Iraqi army checkpoint north of Baghdad.
A security source told KUNA that a suicide bomber blew himself up at an army post in a KIA car, leaving scores killed and wounded.
The blast in Taji, 20 km (12 miles) north of the capital, followed another suicide attack in the same town a day earlier that killed at least 22 people.
It was the eighth suicide bombing in a month in Iraq.
The wounded were rushed to Al-Kathmiyah hospital, the source added. (end).
