ISLAMABAD, Jan 9 (KUNA) -- Police in Pakistan's southern Karachi port city Wednesday said that it has arrested five Taliban-linked terrorists who were involved in the killing of five polio workers and also Aisha Manzil blast that killed more than 10 persons and wounded over 30 others.
Karachi Additional Inspector General Ghulam Bashir Sheikh, addressing a press conference, said that five terrorists, who were behind the killing of five polio workers and the Aisha Manzil blast, have been arrested in two different raids in Orangi and Ethad Towns.
He added that police also recovered explosive material, suicide jackets and other armament from their possession. Sheikh said that the arrested terrorists have links with outlawed Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
Five polio workers were gunned down in a string of coordinated attacks in Karachi last month. They were part of UN-backed programme to eradicate polio, which is endemic in the country. (end) amn.hb KUNA 091619 Jan 13NNNN
