Hamas says find wreckage of Israeli plane in Gaza

GAZA, Nov 24 (KUNA) -- Palestinian movement Hamas said Saturday it found the wreckage of an Israeli airplane, believed to be one of seven gunned down by the movement's military wing, Izz Al-Din Al-Qassam Brigades, during the recent hostilities.
The wreckage of the reconnaissance plane was found in central Gaza, Mahmoud Al-Zahhar, a Hamas leader, told reporters in a meeting in one of the hotels.
"According to our estimates, seven airplanes were brought down including a pilotless aircraft which was found in the central area of the strip," he said.
Izz Al-Din Al-Qassam Brigades announced, during the third day of the Israeli aggression, that it gunned down a military airplane with a surface-to-air missile.
Al-Zahhar said the "whole world" was shocked with Hamas' military capabilities during the Israeli aggression, and that Hamas was stronger than ever following "this victory" over the Israelis.
Egypt brokered a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas to end the assault that killed some 170 Palestinians and five Israelis, as well as injuring more than 1,000 Palestinians. The Israeli aggression also destroyed public and private properties.
Al-Zahhar said Hamas asked for cessation of provocations, assassinations, and attacks against fishermen and farmers.
He said talks would continue to discuss the reopening of crossings. (end) mzt.bs KUNA 242003 Nov 12NNNN
