GAZA, Nov 11 (KUNA) -- A member of Al-Quds Brigades, the military wing of
Islamist Jihad movement, was KILLED and others wounded in a series of raids
carried out by Israeli warplanes on Gaza Strip, Sunday morning.
Israeli reconnaissance aircraft carried out attacks on a group of
Palestinians in Jabalia, northern Gaza Strip, a Palestinian source told KUNA.
The source said that the attacks resulted in the martyrdom of Mohammad
Obeid, a 20 year-old Palestinian, and wounding others, who were immediately
admitted at Kamal Adwan Hospital in Beit Lahiya.
Al-Quds Brigades announced that Obeid is one of its members, noting in a
statement distributed here this morning, that he was one of the "artillery
unit" members.
With the death of Obeid, the number of Palestinians killed by the Israeli
escalation on the Gaza Strip since Saturday evening rose to six, including
four boys and more than 37 others wounded.
In addition, Israeli warplanes carried out raids on a group of Palestinians
southern Al-Zaytoun neighborhood, southeast Gaza, Sunday morning.
There were no immediate reports of casualties, but the Palestinians'
property was destroyed, the source added.
Israeli F-16s raided farmlands east of Khan Younis city, causing no
injuries.
The Israeli warplanes also raided two houses in Al-Shajaiya neighborhood,
eastern Gaza, and Jabalia, northern Gaza Strip, which started fire in the
houses, without causing any casualties.
Five Palestinians were killed and about 33 others were wounded by artillery
and aerial shelling that targeted Gaza Strip.
"The shelling was a retaliation for targeting one of the Israeli army's
cars on the Israel-Gaza border with an anti-tank missile, which injured four
of our soldiers," said an Israeli army source. (end)
