MOSCOW, Sept 20 (KUNA) -- Russian security forces killed eight militants in
Russia's volatile North Caucasus region of Kabardino-Balkaria, said local
media on Thursday.
Security forces surrounded the militant group, who refused to surrender and
opened fire at the forces in one of the buildings in Nalchik, the capital of
Kabardino-Balkaria, according to Interfax news agency.
Among those killed were four militant leaders in the region. Forces also
retrieved a large amount of weapons, ammunition and explosives, a Russian
security source told the agency. (end)
