NAM summit urges for Palestinian state, end to Israeli occupation

TEHRAN, Aug 31 (KUNA) -- The Non-Aligned Movement summit affirmed the Palestinian people's right for self-determination and statehood and called for an end to the occupation of Palestinian lands, in its closing statement on Friday.
It also called for the formation of a fair and effective global order able to administer international affairs in a collective manner, condemned racial and tribal discrimination while supporting human rights and rejected nuclear warfare and weapons of mass destruction while recognizing the peaceful uses of nuclear energy.
The statement also condemned terrorism and actions that threaten global security and stability and encouraged dialogue between faiths and cultures, in order to consolidate peace, security and development in the worldwide.
It went on to reject intervention in the private affairs of nations and threats to use force against these nations and urged the international community to solve disputes by peaceful means.
International representatives were invited to attend the next upcoming summit in Venezuela in 2015.
Kuwait attended the talks with a delegation headed by its Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah.
The minister was accompanied by the ministry's Director of Arab World Affairs Jamal Al-Ghanim, the director of his office Sheikh Dr Ahmad Nasser Al-Mohammed Al-Sabah and the ministry's Director of International Organizations Jassem Al-Mubaraki. (pickup previous) mw.sd KUNA 312348 Aug 12NNNN
