BAGHDAD, Aug 23 (KUNA) -- Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari received a
phone call from the US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and they discussed
the latest developments on the Syrian front.
"The two sides have discussed Iraq's regional ties and the fallout of the
Syrian crisis on neighboring countries," an Iraqi Foreign Ministry statement
said on Thursday.
Zebari reiterated that his country did not approve of any interference in
Syria's internal affairs or any military solution to resolve the crisis.
The two officials also tackled the issue of Syrian refugees in Iraq and how
humanitarian aid was needed to support those refugees.
A number of bilateral issues, especially the exchange of visits and
meetings, also came up in the conversation.(end)
