LONDON, Aug 10 (KUNA) -- Bahraini woman runner Maryam Jamal won on Friday
the bronze medal in the 1,500 meter competition, the first medal for Bahrain
in the London Olympics 2012.
After the race, Jamal time was (4:10.74 minutes), but the gold medal went
to Turkish Alsi Cakir Alptekin with (4:10.23 minutes), while her teammate
Gamze Bulut took the silver with (4:10.40 minutes).
Bahrain increased the total number of medals of Arabs to 12 thanks to
Tunisia, Algeria, Egypt, Qatar, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and Morocco. (end)
