TEHRAN, Aug 6 (KUNA) -- Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad announced on
Monday he would participate in the emergency meeting of Muslim leaders due in
the holy city of Makkah next week.
Mohammed Reza Forqani, head of international affairs at the president's
office, told reporters that President Ahmadinejad's consent to take part in
the summit came after an invitation from Saudi King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz.
King Abdullah called for holding the summit at the level of the
Organization of Islamic Cooperation on August 15.
The leaders are scheduled to discuss issues related spreading discords
among Muslims. (end)
