GAZA, July 18 (KUNA) -- Israeli forces, supported by tanks and bulldozers,
intruded into the eastern territories of Al-Zaytoun neighborhood, southeast of
Gaza City early Tuesday.
Palestinian security sources informed KUNA that five Merkava tanks
accompanied by four bulldozers penetrated 200 meters into eastern territories
of Al-Zaytoun neighborhood.
The troops entered the region amid heavy fire towards Palestinian homes and
farmlands to coincide with intensive flights of reconnaissance aircraft, the
sources added.
There were no reports of casualties among the Palestinians, the sources
continued, adding that the bulldozers destroyed and ravaged Palestinian lands
in the area. (end)
