KUWAIT, June 16 (KUNA) -- Syrian opposition National Council (SNC) Saturday
warned that the Syrian regime was ready to carry out another massacre in Homs,
with the regime benefiting from international division over the conflict in
the troubled country.
The SNC, in a statement through its Facebook account, warned the UN and the
UN Security Council (UNSC) member against prolonged silence over the "genocide
and crimes against humanity taking pace before the whole world."
Homs, which has been attacked heavily, has been surrounded by around 2,000
army forces and pro-government thugs who were equipped tanks, artillery and
helicopters, said SNC.
Reports from Homs, said SNC, indicated that the government forces were
ready to launch a "barbaric" attack that might cause a massacre among
citizens. (end)
