TOKYO, May 10 (KUNA) -- Kuwaiti ambassador's wife Jamilah Al-Otaibi
visited, on Tuesday, Fukushima Prefecture which was struck by a major
earthquake and a tsunami in March 2011.
The ambassador's wife, along with a delegation of the Society of Wives of
Arab Ambassadors in Japan (SWAAJ), visited five schools in the district to
give help in the form of textbooks and school supplies.
Al-Otaibi expressed her admiration to the tremendous efforts exerted by all
sectors of the Japanese society to overcome a crisis of such magnitude.
Officials at Fukushima Prefecture expressed, on their parts, deep
appreciation to the visit done by SWAAJ which showed the deep relations that
tie Japan with the Arab countries.
Kuwait has given Fukushima Prefecture an oil grant of 516 billion yen, in
addition, to a USD three million given to rebuild Fukushima's Marine Science
Museum by His Highness the Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber
Al-Sabah during his last visit to Japan. (end)
