RABAT, April 12 (KUNA) -- Two US Marines were killed, while others are
severely injured in a hybrid aircraft crash in southern Morocco, sources of
the US embassy in Rabat said Thursday.
The Marines were taking part in joint US-Moroccan military exercises
located in the south of the country based in Tan-Tan province, US Embassy
spokesman said.
The accident was caused by a fire that broke out in the aircraft, which was
an MV-22 Osprey, taking off and landing like a helicopter and flies like an
airplane.
The aircraft was participating in a US-Moroccan military exercise known as
"African Lion." In which live ammunition is used since 2005. This exercise
works to enhance the efficiency of Moroccan army soldiers and the 14th Marine
Regiment. (end)
