ANKARA, April 4 (KUNA) -- Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said
Wednesday his country is ready to host a new round of the nuclear talks
between Iran and the five permanent members of the United Nations Security
Council plus Germany (P5+1).
Iran has stated desire that the talks be held in Istanbul, Turkey,
Davutoglu sid in a joint press conference here with visiting Belgian Deputy
Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Didier Reynders.
If the other concerned parties agree on Istanbul as venue of the talks,
Turkey is ready to offer all possible help to ensure the success of the talks,
he affirmed.
Regardless of the venue and the other procedures, what matters is the
outcome of the talks, he said, voicing hope that the new round would make a
breakthrough in the stalemate of the Iranian nuclear file.
Davutoglu outlined two prerequisites for the success of the talks, namely
removing any hurdles on Iran's quest for peaceful nuclear technology and
ensuring transparency of nuclear program through easy access for international
inspectors to the nuclear facilities in the Islamic republic.
If there is a political will to meet these two conditions all ambiguities
shrouding the nuclear program will be removed and confidence will be built
between Iran and the international community, he added. (end)
