Jazeera to begin flights to Iraq in two weeks

BAGHDAD, April 3 (KUNA) -- Jazeera Airways will start operating return flights between Kuwait and Iraq in two weeks' time after an agreement signed between the Kuwaiti airline and the Iraqi aviation authority.
The agreement is seen by the Iraqi Transport Ministry's legal advisor Karim Al-Nouri as an end to pending issues between the two countries and a result of positive discussions.
The airline announced last month that it was planning to start operating flights to the holy city of Najaf, in addition to a number of cities like Mosul, Irbil and Baghdad.
Privately-owned Jazeera Airways, founded in 2005, operates the largest number of flights from Kuwait to destinations in the Middle East. With a fleet of 12 Airbus 320s, it transported 1.2 million passengers in 2011 from Kuwait International Airport. (end) ahh.sd KUNA 031825 Apr 12NNNN
