GAZA, March 3 (KUNA) -- Islamic Development Bank (IDB) announced Saturday
the start of the second phase of finishing the (Surgery) building in the
Al-Shifa Hospital compound in Gaza City.
IDB's announcement came due to its position in charge of GCC's (Gaza
reconstruction) program.
The cost of the completion of the second phase of the project is USD 10.3
million, said IDB, noting it has recently signed a deal with the contractor to
that effect, a press release by the IDB explained here.
It said that finishing the project includes infrastructure works,
electrical works, equipment-placing works as well as finishing the exterior of
the building so that it is ready to receive medical equipment.
The four-storey building includes an ICU unit as well sterilization and
operation rooms.(end)
