ALGIERS, Feb 20 (KUNA) -- Algeria registered USD 2.22 billion in trade
surplus in January this year compared with USD 1.16 billion the same month
last year.
Algerian exports were USD 5.82 billion last month against USD five billion
in January 2011, the custom department said Monday.
Imports were USD 3.6 billion in Jaunary 2012, down from USD 3.84 billion in
the corresponding month last year.
It attributed the improvement in trade to 14.6-percent increase of oil
exports, which represents 96.37 percent of overall exports.
Algerian trade recorded a suprlus of USD 26.93 billion last year. (end)
