BRUSSELS, Feb 7 (KUNA) -- Belgian Foreign Minister Didier Reynders has
recalled immediately for consultation the Belgian Ambassador to Syria.
A Belgian Foreign Ministry statement said Reynders also asked the EU High
Representative Catherine Ashton to quickly organize a coordination meeting of
the 27 EU Member States on the safety of European diplomatic missions in Syria
and the measures that should be taken to deal with developments in the
strife-stricken country.
On Sunday, the Syrian embassy in Brussels was ransacked by a group of
anti-Assad protestors.(end)
