KUWAIT, Jan 23 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs
expressed its belief in peace and understanding amongst religions and
encouraging youth to champion such notions, the minister said here on Monday.
In a press statement including a response to a letter from Pope Benedict
XVI on the occassion of World Peace Day, Minister of Social Affairs and Labor
and Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Mohammad Al-Nomas said that justice
and peace were noble notions that were preached by both Christianity and Islam
which in turn should encourage the adherence of both faiths, particularly
among youth.
The media and the family play an integral role in raising youth in such a
manner, said Al-Nomas, who is also the Minister of State for Housing
He also expressed belief that coexistence and harmony among world religions
were the way forward for the future of mankind. (end)
