Kuwait''s exports of crude oil to China down 23.7 percent, LPG jump

TOKYO, Dec 22 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's crude oil exports to China fell 23.7 percent in November from a year earlier to 726,000 tons, equivalent to around 178,000 barrels per day (bpd), while the nation became China's biggest liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) supplier, official data by the Chinese government shows.
Kuwait provided 3.2 percent of China's total crude oil imports, compared with 4.6 percent in the same month of last year and 6.1 percent in October, according to the General Administration of Customs. Kuwait's exports in the first 11 months of 2011 totaled 8.69 million tons (191,000 bpd), down 6.5 percent from the same period last year.
China's overall imports of crude oil in November rose 8.5 percent year-on-year to 5.55 million bpd. China is the world's largest oil consumer. Saudi Arabia remained its top supplier with shipments from the kingdom jumping 32.3 percent from a year earlier to 1.18 million bpd, followed by Angola with 748,000 bpd, up 2.7 percent. Iran became third with imports from the country increasing 5.3 percent to 622,000 bpd.
Meanwhile, Kuwait saw a 64.4 percent year-on-year gain in LPG shipments to China in November as its No.1 supplier, exporting 80,500 tons and accounting for a quarter of China's total. (end) mk.asa KUNA 221108 Dec 11NNNN
